TREAT TAP WATER
Make tap water safe
Whether filling a new pond or re-establishing an existing pond, tap water must be treated to eliminate chemicals, such as chlorine, chloramines and heavy metals, which are harmful to fish.
When re-establishing an existing pond in the spring, remove any large debris, such as sticks and leaves, and then change 15-25% of the pond water to reduce the dissolved organics that have built up over winter. Add API POND STRESS COAT to eliminate the harmful chemicals in tap water; trace amounts of these chemicals will damage gill tissue and large amounts can be toxic to fish.Visit the STRESS COAT® product page »
